About

After a long day of working with families with inherited conditions at the medical center or running around the city with my boys, my favorite way to unwind is creating something beautiful back at home.

If you want to use something I've posted, please use just one or two pictures and link back to the Jewels at Home. If you want to use more pictures or text, please contact me for permission.

The younger kids are on break this week! It’s amazing how a few extra days at home feels like you have so much more time to get beyond the basic necessities - and play LEGO, or in my case, repot the plants! I’ve got some details on repotting plants on the blog #linkinbio . I’ve been drooling over pictures of sunrooms, and while we don’t have an official sunroom, this living/dining room has huge windows on three sides, so I’m experimenting with a solarium theme in here with lots of plants. What do you think? . Little boys and I are headed to the snow tomorrow. I got a wide-angle lens for my phone to try out! . #repotting #fiddleleaffig #fiddleleaffigtree #rubyrubberplant #rubberplant #variegatedrubberplant #sunroom #sunroomdecor #livingwithplants #boymom
Plant shelfie! This is in the boys’ bathroom, which I re-did for last spring’s #oneroomchallenge . I wanted them to get a positive message from the “Hello Handsome” sign, every time they -umm- use the facilities. Lots of changes with these growing boys - I’m doing my best to keep up and learning a lot along the way. Is anyone else listening to the Tilt Parenting podcast series (@tiltparenting)? It’s geared towards parenting of “differently wired” kids, and it’s full of great resources for that, which is naturally also wonderful inspiration for parenting in general. . #plants #plantshelfie #urbanjunglebloggers #urbanjungle #bathroom #bathroomdesign #bathroomart #shelfstyling #ckstyleaccordingly #inmydomaine #theeverymom #theeverygirlathome
