Tablecloth Wrap Dress

Some people are inspired by cooking videos or makeup tutorials. My social media addiction is watching the creative ways people transform tablecloths and other used textiles into clothes. My mom taught me how to sew, but it’s been years since I tried to make my own clothes. It can be hard to get the right fit, but I had a few simple patterns in mind and after some adjustments, I’m loving the results!

I often use fabric that I have already or find at the thrift store – it’s good for the environment and your bank account, not to mention so much fun!! But, if this exact print is calling to you the way it did to me, here is a link (affiliate) to the tablecloth I used. I bought the 90”x60” size for my project.

My vision was a simple pullover dress with a shirred waist and faux wrap top. The border and mixed patterns is what I loved about this fabric, and it was fun to lay out my pattern to make the most of the blue trim.

I even found a way to use the corners of the tablecloth for the back neckline trim!

Finally, I added a full skirt with pockets, of course!!

It was honestly so fun to play around with this beautiful tablecloth in my favorite blue and green , and the result is so satisfying! I love having a dress that is unique and perfectly suited to me. For cooler days, I can throw a sweater on top!

I’m officially addicted to tablecloth / curtain/ bed sheet dresses, so stay tuned for more sewing projects!

Cheers!
