I dressed up this wooden desk organizer to create some pretty storage in my kitchen. You could use it for a bathroom, office or craft space also! I love tea – and throwing tea parties – so this is perfect for me. This project was inspired by a reel I saw on Instagram, and now I can’t remember the exact source, so if you see it, please let me know!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- wooden desk organizer
- Stain/ diluted paint
- Dressy cabinet handles. I had the larger pulls left over from making this sideboard and customizing this china cabinet. The smaller knobs are from the vintage Thomasville bedroom set I found. That set was missing some hardware, so I had to buy new handles, but I kept the originals, of course! and painted them to coordinate with the other handles.
- Decorative paper to line the drawers
- clear contact paper to protect the drawer liners
Here’s how to do it:
- Remove the drawers and stain them to match the outside
- Add new hardware
- Cut paper to line the drawers and protect with clear contact paper
- Fill with your favorite teas, art supplies, toiletries, or whatever!

Cheers!
