In the past few years, I’ve started a tradition of making quilts for the new babies among our friends… and I have been busy! I strive for patterns that are fun for a little one, but something that they can also continue to use as they grow. Here’s my latest creation that went to baby Louie! I’ll link to my other baby quilt patterns at the bottom of this post.

If you look closely, you’ll see many special fabrics – DNA for my fellow genetic counselors, shibori that I dyed myself, and fabrics from my mom’s collection, including the fabric from my own baby blanket (the yellow tigers!).

Recently, I’ve been pairing my quilts with these charming board books by my friend, Christie Matheson.

I’ve tried to make all my baby quilts fun and meaningful. Check out my past baby quilts projects:
- Playful Swiss cross baby quilt
- Rainbow scrap squares quilt
- Stacked coins quilt
- Tiger baby quilts
- Draw-a-quilt-square party activity
I’ve got a couple of retirement quilts to share soon!
